Butler High School bowler Rocco Rice has reached the PA State Singles Championships in Lancaster, PA in two weeks after being one of the 12 qualifiers at the State Western Regional Championships Friday in Pittsburgh, PA.
Rocco rolled the high game of the day with a 255 in his final game of the day to jump to eighth overall. He then fell in a four-man stepladder championship roll-off to eventual tournament winner Mike Mullaney of Greensburg Central Catholic.
Colin Cummings of Freeport also qualified for the state tournament with a seventh place finish.
