Butler Health System is moving their COVID vaccination site to the Clearview Mall in the next couple of weeks.
Chief Nursing Officer Karen Allen says that starting April 14th, all vaccinations given through Butler Health System will be done at the former Sears location at the mall.
She says this comes as a more consistent amount of vaccine is to be supplied on a regular basis.
“Currently, the Department of Health has offered to give us consistently the same amount of vaccine, which is the first time that’s happened since the start of this,” Allen said. “So, we’re going to be receiving 4,400 vaccines per week at the Butler site.”
She says that even if you received your first vaccine at the hospital—all vaccines after April 14th will be distributed at the mall.
The move was made in part to eliminate additional traffic from the hospital.
“We think it’s a good idea to move [to the mall] because there’s some congestion with the traffic at the hospital. People coming in for other testing, the parking becomes a little tight.”
Allen said the hospital is currently vaccinating about 1,600 per day.
