A Butler man has been accused of insurance fraud after allegedly filing a false claim.
On January 28, 39-year-old Daniel Mukaabya started an insurance policy with General Insurance. In the following days, Mukaabya filed a claim for when a deer struck his car.
The total estimated damages to the vehicle are estimated to be $2,074
Investigators say the damages reported on the car had been on the vehicle as far back as June 2025. Mukaabya is accuse of filling the claim for pre-existing damages not related to any incident in February.
Mukaabya has been charged with insurance fraud and theft by deception.
He is now waiting for a preliminary hearing scheduled for August.
