A Butler man has been accused of assaulting a woman and threatening her with her life to drop charges against him over a stolen bicycle.
On Monday, the victim reported a June assault that she alleges was from 46-year-old Zachary Ryan.
The victim claims after reporting a stolen electric bicycle to police, Ryan then came to the victim’s home and threatened the victim while holding a knife to her neck.
Ryan told the woman to drop charges against him over the bicycle or else he would kill her and her family. Charging documents also accuse Ryan of fracturing the victim’s nose.
Police charged Ryan with simple assault and terroristic threats. A preliminary hearing has been scheduled for August 18.
Ryan is currently out of prison on $50,000 bail for charges relate to selling drugs in 2023 in the city of Butler.
