A Butler man is facing charges after he allegedly sexually assaulted a minor at a Butler City home.
In early November, police were called to a hospital to speak with a minor who was allegedly assaulted by 36-year-old Matthew Wainwright.
According to charging documents, Wainwright sexually assaulted the minor while the child’s mother was not at home.
After informing the mother about the incident the victim was taken to a hospital for an examination.
Police used text messages between the victim and Wainwright as part of the evidence to charge Wainwright with indecent assault, aggravated indecent assault, and corruption of minors.
He’s being held in the Butler County Prison on $100,000 bond as he awaits a preliminary hearing.
