A Butler man is in prison after he allegedly stole thousands from local businesses.
In May, the Fairground Market reported a robbery of over $1,000 from two of their cash registers. Then in December, the Salvation Army also reported a break-in theft of over $1,100 during the overnight hours.
Police say on January 1st, the Fairground Market reported another robbery of over 200 lottery tickets. They said someone attempted to cash the tickets later in the day at 3B’s Tobacco.
Police used video surveillance to accuse 37-year-old Erik Cupps of all the three crimes.
Cupps has been charged with Burglary and theft by unlawful taking. His bail was set at $75,000, a preliminary hearing has been set for January 21.
