A Butler man accused of crashing and leaving the scene of a Jefferson Township crash pled guilty in Butler earlier this week.
police were called to Route 356 and Fisher Road at 6 a.m. for a reported hit and run. After the crash, police sent out a release asking for help identifying the driver of the vehicle.
Anonymous tip connected 26-year-old Jake Waltz to the crash.
According to police, Waltz went through a stop sign and t-boned crashed with another vehicle. The driver of the other vehicle suffered injuries that required transportation to the hospital.
On Tuesday, Waltz pled guilty to two misdemeanors and one felony for fleeing the scene after the crash. He was sentenced to 60 months or probation, 25 hours of community service, and pay $3,093 in fees, fines, and cost of prosecution.
