Butler Memorial Hospital is now using new technology to help with lung cancer diagnosis.
According to Independence Health System officials, the Johnson and Johnson MedTech Monarch Platform is a robotically assisted system to allow doctors to obtain tissue samples more easily.
This technology provides physicians with a comprehensive suite of endoscopic intervention capabilities including a flexible tube equipped with a small camera which offers continuous vision of air passages and guide instruments deep into the lungs.
The American Lung Association says lung cancer is the leading cause of cancer deaths for both men and women.
