Tomorrow will be the first day of school in the Butler Area School District.
At a meeting earlier this month, the Butler School Board approved the second reading of a policy that requires students in grades 9 to 12 to turn off their phones and keep them in their bags from bell to bell.
Butler continues to seek substitutes with new pay rates including $125 a day for a full-day teacher, $135 a day for a dedicated full-day teacher, $14 an hour for a custodian, and $13 an hour for a paraprofessional or clerical staff.
Also earlier this month Superintendent Dr. Brian White said the district had a positive update from transportation provider AJ Myers with “coverage in place” compared to last year when the district experienced a severe shortage of bus drivers.
