The Butler Boys Track and Field team traveled to Kent State University for a meet Sunday. CJ Singleton shattered the Butler school record in the 800-meter run, topping the previous record set by Evan Gomez in 2011 by almost three seconds. Singleton ran a time of 1:53.64 and now holds the school record in the 800, 1600, 3000 and 3200-meter runs.
–Guinness Brown won the 200-meter run and anchored the mile-relay team that lowered their own school record by two seconds. That team of Brown, Brayden Young, Presley Ornelas and CJ Singleton ran the mile in 3:23.97, which is currently the top time in Pennsylvania.
–Brown also anchored the 4×200 relay team which matched its school record of 1:31.12, which is also the top time in the state.
–The 4×800 relay team of Ryder Kriley, Drew Griffith, Sage Vavro and CJ Singleton had a win along with Tristan McGarrah in the Pole Vault.
The team will compete in the Western Pennsylvania Team Championships at Edinboro University Saturday.
