The Butler Area School District will make a change in their food service provider for next school year.
At their meeting earlier this week, the board approved an agreement with Metz Culinary Management as food service provider pending solicitor review.
A selection committee followed a state-mandated process to narrow the candidates down to two finalists. Among the factors leading the committee to select Metz were financial guarantees and plans to help special needs students operate a food shop. Metz currently provides food service for a few local districts including North Allegheny.
Aramark has been the food service provider for Butler schools for the past three years.
