A local school will be receiving funding from the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency to help improve safety.
This program has designated a Building Opportunities through Out-of-School Time or BOOST award of $500,000 for Butler Area School District.
The program will focus on Broad Street Elementary but also support students at the Intermediate and Senior High Schools with a combination of high‑dosage after‑school tutoring, precision teaching, executive‑function training, and character‑based mentoring. Money will be used for partial salaries and benefits for six instructors, program supplies, curriculum materials, assessment tools, and general operating expenses as well as instructional partner Morningside Consultants.
A total of $65 million has been awarded to fund 177 projects across the state for school safety improvements in this most recent awarding of grants by the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency.
