Butler Area School District was awarded a grant for child nutrition through the Pennsylvania Farm Bill.
The $15,000 grant aims at improving access to healthy local food and hands on learning for children in grades pre-kindergarten to eight grades.
“Farm-to-School grants are a solid investment in feeding hungry minds and feeding our future,” said Agriculture Secretary Russell Redding.
Funding will go towards school gardens, field trips, and other hands-on agriculture education.
