Butler Township Police are warning of a scam from someone claiming to be from the department.
Police say the scammer says they are Sargent Murphy from the township police. The caller says the resident has important documents that need to be signed, and asks for a call back.
Police say do not call the number because it is a scam.
There used to be a Sgt. Murphy at the township police, but he retired from the force.
