Butler Township Commissioner Dave Zarnick recently attended Lobby Days in Harrisburg where he met with State Senator Scott Hutchison and Representative Marci Mustello.
Zarnick serves on the executive committee of Pennsylvania State Association of Township Commissioners and is a past President of this group. The association met with legislators to promote issues they believe strongly affect local municipalities. One of the issues they have focused on is that ours is the only state in the nation that does not allow local police to use radar.
Speeding in neighborhoods is a paramount public safety concern for local elected officials, as it is the number one complaint from residents. The association believes that radar is a reliable, accurate and efficient public safety tool, unlike the antiquated systems currently in use by local police. PSATC strongly supports the authorization for local police to use radar.
