The Butler Township Commissioners have given approval to a land development plan for a local business.
After receiving a recommendation from the Township Planning Commission and hearing from engineers about an expansion of the Farmer’s Mutual building at 205 South Eberhart Road, Commissioners voted to approve the project.
There is no plan to immediately increase the number of employees at this corporate office facility. Instead, the company plans to add a second story and addition to increase available space by around 3,000 square feet. A 33-space parking lot in the back will eliminate the current need to back onto the road as well as manage storm water more effectively through the creation of a small pond behind the adjacent residential property which is also owned by Farmers.
A change of zoning for this property was approved by vote of the Township Commissioners at their meeting in July. This project is expected to get underway sometime in the spring of 2026.
