Fire safety may seem like common sense but some Butler Township students will receive an extra incentive for learning and sharing this important information as part of a family fire safety poster contest.
Butler Township students in kindergarten through 5th grade attending McQuistion, Northwest, and Connoquenessing are asked to prepare a poster in response to the theme of “Cooking Safety Starts with YOU! Pay attention to Fire Prevention!”
Butler Township Commissioners will select winners from each grade level and trophies will be awarded during a meeting next month. The school with the most participants will also receive a trophy.
This year marks the 101st anniversary of Fire Protection Week and all posters will be on display through the month of October. The deadline for submissions at the Butler Township Municipal Building or at the schools is Thursday, October 12th.
