Many local students received recognition for participation in Butler Township’s annual Fire Safety Coloring Contest.
In connection with Fire Prevention Week, Director of Emergency Services Scott Frederick recently shared coloring sheets with the theme of “Charge into Fire Safety” with students in kindergarten through 2nd grade at several Butler Township Schools.
Kindergarten students at McQuistion were judged to have done the best job so that group was awarded a trophy while the first-grade students in Room 6 at Northwest as well as the second-grade students in Room 7 at Northwest both received a first-place trophy.
Connoquenessing Elementary School had the highest percentage of students participating so they have been awarded the traveling trophy.
