Butler Township is moving forward with plans to secure funding for projects connected to the recreation property at Pullman Business Park.
At their meeting Monday night, Butler Township Commissioners approved resolution to make a funding request of $6.5 million through the Butler County Infrastructure Bank.
This money would be used to pay for transportation enhancements for the roadways that access the property as well as for the recreation facilities themselves which have yet to be determined.
The township is pursuing grant funding from state agencies such as PennDOT and the DCNR that could help to reduce the local share of this funding however most of these grants are the reimbursable type which means the money must be secured and spent before it could be paid back with state funding.
If approved by the County, the Township would have 24 months to draw down the funds and 10 years to repay them with low interest.
