Butler wrestler Santino Sloboda won his second career WPIAL title Saturday when he defeated Dom Canali of Trinity with an 18-2 technical fall in the championship match. Sloboda improved to 41-0 this season and outscored his four opponents 74-17 in the tournament. It was the third year in a row that he reached the WPIAL finals with an undefeated record.
Senior Kase Chopp was the runner-up in the 145-pound weight class. He is now 40-7 this season. Both move on to the state Regional tournament this weekend.
Owen Layhew of Knoch was the runner-up at 145-pounds in the Class 2A championship.
Grove City had four wrestlers win District 10 Class 2A titles over the weekend.
Mya Lee of Mars high school was runner-up in the Class 3A WPIAL Diving Championships Saturday at North Allegheny high school. Ali Waters of Seneca Valley finished fourth.
