A local eatery has been forced to close by the state for a COVID-19 related violation.
The PA Department of Agriculture is responsible for enforcing the restaurant restrictions for COVID-19, and according to their report from last week, eight inspections were completed for Butler County.
Three of those inspections were as a result of complaints received and a closure notice was issued for Mel’s Place in Cabot as a result of offering dine-in service in violation of temporary COVID-19 mitigation efforts. The state says this establishment refused to comply with the order after in-person confirmation of the violation.
After receiving 99 complaints and completing 274 inspections last week, the state issued 36 closure notices for COVID-19 related issues.
