Candidates are beginning to be put forward for the election to replace Republican state Representative Jeff Pyle.
Pyle represented the 60th legislative district, which included Buffalo and Winfield Townships before he stepped down earlier this month as a result of health concerns.
Earlier this week Pyle endorsed his former Chief of Staff, 36-year-old Abby Major to finish the rest of his current term. Candidates for the seat will be selected by their respective parties with Republicans expected to choose later today followed by Democrats tomorrow night. The deadline for parties to nominate a candidate for this race is Sunday.
The special election will take place on May 18th—which is the day of the Pennsylvania primary.
