A new law that would allow “canned cocktails” to be sold outside of state liquor stores has passed the state senate.
The bill would allow bars, restaurants, and distributors to sell mixed drinks to-go.
Currently, canned drinks that include vodka or other liquors, can only be sold at Fine Wine and Good Spirit stores.
Advocates say the drinks are growing in popularity and believe they can be sold in places that are more easily accessible to consumers.
The bill now moves to the full House after passing narrowly in the Senate 26-24.
