Patrick Cantlay won the BMW Championship for the second consecutive year in the tournament’s first appearance at the Wilmington Country Club in Delaware. He had a birdie-par finish to hold off Scott Stallings by one stroke. Cantlay is the first golfer ever to defend a title since the FedEx Cup playoffs began in 2007.
Scottie Scheffler will enter the final FedEx Cup Playoff tournament with a two-stroke lead over Cantlay. Will Zalatoris will begin the tournament three strokes behind. The winner will take the $18 million top prize.
The Butler Girls Golf team defeated Mars 192-206 Friday at the Suncrest Golf Course. Butler’s Autumn Gall was medalist with a 45.
