For the third straight day Central Electric Cooperative has issued peak alert.
With higher temperatures, the CEC is asking customers to conserve energy by turning off non-essential electric items and raising your thermostat a few degrees.
They also ask that you shift the use of items such as dehumidifiers, pool pumps, and electric appliances to hours outside of the peak period—which runs from 1 to 7 p.m.
