Central Electric Cooperative is issuing a peak alert for today as temperatures are expected to rise in to the mid-80s.
Members are asked to turn off all non-essential electric items, especially lighting, dehumidifiers, and pool pumps. They are also asked to not set their air conditioners below 78 degrees.
The cooperative provides electric to some customers in Butler County.
