Central Electric Cooperative is issuing another peak alert for today as temperatures are expected to get close to the mid-80s this afternoon.
They ask that you conserve power by turning off all non-essential electric items and set your air conditioner at a minimum of 78 degrees. CEC also says to use dehumidifiers, pool pumps, and electric appliances outside of the peak period.
Peak demand is expected to be from 1 to 7 p.m.

There’s a threat of severe storms developing later today. Graphic via AccuWeather.
