A Center Township man is out thousands of dollars following an online scam.
Police say the 79-year-old man received a message on his computer that it had been locked. The scammer then called a number and was told to he had to get gift cards in order to unlock the computer.
The victim purchased $2,500 in gift cards from Target and sent pictures of the cards to the scammer.
Police say the transactions were traced to Russia.
No arrests have been made at this time.
