With several projects either underway or on the horizon for the City of Butler, Council has approved a change order as well as how future change orders can be handled.
At their Thursday meeting, Council first approved a change order in the amount of nearly $66,000 for the Farmers Market Improvements Project. This money is needed to pay for work currently taking place to address leaking pipes that were discovered in the area under the Farmers Market parking lot.
Council also approved a motion to allow the City Mayor to approve any change order under $25,000 and the Mayor along with the Council member in charge of finance to approve any change order between $25,000 and $50,000. The expenses will still go before council at the next meeting but work will be able to continue in the meantime.
