Charges against a Slippery Rock Middle School teacher, who was accused of inappropriately touching students, are being dismissed.
The District Attorney’s office says there wasn’t enough evidence to proceed in the case against 51-year-old Robert Willison.
Assistant District Attorney Laura Pitchford was prosecuting the case.
“When we file charges, that’s generally when we have the best evidence we’re going to have,” Pitchford said. “Sometimes as cases progress, the evidence gets weaker, and that’s what happened in this case.”
Willison was accused of inappropriately touching four different female students in the fall of 2018.
He was suspended by the district after the allegations arose.
Superintendent Dr. Angelo Angelucci told our newsroom that the district doesn’t comment on personnel matters and that “this criminal proceeding is separate and apart from proceedings regarding his employment with the District.”
