Police have officially filed charges against a man involved in a serious crash in downtown Butler last month.
Police say 39-year-old David Marble III of Wellsboro was speeding northbound on Main Street on September 15. When he approached the intersection with Jefferson Street, he went around two stopped vehicles and ran a red light.
He crashed vehicle driven by Brent Hoelzer, which seriously injured both men and they had to be flown to Pittsburgh hospitals.
According to charging documents, Marble is alleged to have told a medical emergency provider he used cocaine.
Officers used this admission to seek a search warrant to Marble’s medical records.
Marble has been charged with aggravated assault by vehicle while driving under the influence, a DUI, and several traffic offenses.
