A Chicora woman has been charged after she was able to take handcuffs off and escape police custody.
Butler Township Police pulled over a vehicle with 23-year-old Kiera Hardisty as a passenger last Friday. Hardisty allegedly had a warrant out for her arrest and was taken into custody during the stop.
Police say Hardisty was then able to slip handcuffs off her wrist and attempted to open the police cruiser door by reaching out the window of the vehicle.
She was charged with escape and to be in possession of drug paraphernalia. Hardisty was placed in the Butler County Prison on $2,500 bond as she awaits a preliminary hearing.
