A child was flown to Children’s Hospital after a collision with a deer late last week.
The accident happened Friday evening around 5 p.m. on Route 8 North in Center Township, near the Unionville Volunteer Fire Department.
Police say a deer jumped out in front of a vehicle driven by 29-year-old Jacob Roenigk of Sarver. Roenigk hit the deer, which then went airborne and into an oncoming vehicle driven by 42-year-old Keri Pavelek of Slippery Rock.
The deer went through the windshield and hit an 11-year-old girl who was in the passenger’s seat. She suffered serious injuries and was flown to Children’s Hospital. No other injuries were reported.
There is no word on the girl’s current condition.
