A couple of local church congregations are giving back to the community with outreach planned for this weekend.
First, the Trinity Presbyterian Community Church is hosting a Care Closet from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday at their location on Staley Avenue in Butler. Those who have a need will be able to choose from many sizes of new or gently worn clothing. Canned goods will also be free to those in need. Visitors are asked to please wear a COVID-19 face mask.
Also on Saturday, First United Methodist Church is holding a Back to School Supply Drive from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the parking lot of the Downtown Campus Connection Center in Butler. School supplies and clothing will be available at no cost. This event is being held outside for social distancing purposes.
