Residents of the City of Butler will see a continuation of the current company providing garbage collection services in 2026.
Thursday night Butler City Council approved a new three-year contract with Vogel Disposal that will run through 2028. Vogel submitted the only proposal in the city’s recent solicitation of bids for the service.
The city’s current contract with Vogel for garbage and recyclable collection was for five years but before that Waste Management provided those services.
City residents with regular residential rates are expected see an increase of just over $4 per month during the first year. Rates will then continue to increase by a little under a dollar per month in each of the following years.
The city was able to negotiate one bulk item to be taken every other week opposite recycling.
