An agreement between the Butler Area School District and the City of Butler will allow for the installation of playground equipment at Broad Street Elementary School for use by the whole community.
The Butler Area School Board approved an agreement with the city at their Monday night meeting to allow for the city to place equipment they might receive through a grant on school district property.
The agreement lasts for 25 years and the city will pay the district $1 per year in rent to construct and maintain the playground for community use. Students will still use the playground during school hours.
The district will maintain insurance on the property. City Parks representatives could not be immediately reached for details about the timeline for plans at that playground.
