The apartment building where three people died earlier this month in the city of Butler has been condemned.
The City’s Code Enforcement Officer confirmed that a Notice of Violation was issued to the unnamed property owner of 109 College Street on January 13th.
This followed an inspection that took place on January 10th that found multiple violations including no heat or water service to the property. Electricity to the three-bedroom structure was still on at that time.
The owner now has until the middle of March to make the repairs or ask for an extension. Three people died and two others were hospitalized on January 7th for what is believed to have been carbon monoxide poisoning.
