The City of Butler is considering seeking assistance from a state agency to improve efficiency and learn more about funding opportunities.
City Council passed a motion Tuesday night to approve a resolution that would undertake a project through the Department of Community and Economic Development’s Strategic Management Planning Program.
Under this program, DCED representatives would come to Butler in order to educate officials and employees about areas in need of attention as well as opportunities for grants. The exact cost the city would pay to receive this guidance has not been determined at this time as it would depend on the scope of the assistance. Other regional municipalities have previously taken advantage of this program.
Now that this resolution has been approved, Council is expected to have a discussion with DCED before the end of this month to see if the program is a good fit for the city and if the agency can help the city.
