Butler City Council heard from a final local lending institution as they consider a financial advisor for proceeds from the sale of Butler Area Sewer Authority assets to PA American Water.
Representatives of Baird Institutional Consulting Services, formerly known as Hefren-Tillotson spoke to council about what that company would bring to a partnership with the city.
Baird emphasized their fiduciary status which means that their top obligation is to understand what is best for the city and act as an extension of city officials and employees. They also discussed their extensive nationwide experience as well as an accountable local team.
NexTier, PNC, and Edward Jones previously made presentations. Council will now consider the proposals for about a month before continuing discussions next month and holding community meetings at an as yet to be determined time to receive feedback.
A final decision is expected to be made by the end of June.
