After considering a different option last month, the City of Butler is moving forward with new plans to change who collects property and per capita tax revenue.
At their Thursday meeting, Council discussed an offer recently received from Butler County Treasurer Diane Marburger to replace current tax collection agency Berkheimer.
Council now believes that this option will be the most cost effective and convenient for City residents.
Preparations for making this move at the end of this year include legal representatives preparing a revised contract to allow for Marburger to collect these taxes as her office already does for several other municipalities in Butler County.
