The Butler City Police Department and the United States Postal Inspection Service will be hosting a scam educational presentation later this week.
The presentation will focus on A.I. scams that use lookalike photos, clone voices, and text and email wording that builds trust.
These scams can be romance, investment, illegitimate tech support, and fake emergency requests from friends and family.
The discussion is being held on Thursday at St. Michael’s Social Hall at 11 a.m. with a question and answer after the 30-minute presentation.
If you are ever requested to make what seems like an illegitimate payment you are encouraged to immediately call 911.
