Butler City will add funds to a project to upgrade a retaining wall and sidewalk that is funded by state grants.
A total of $120,000 was already secured for the Mercer Street Retaining Wall Sidewalk project through the 2024 Community Development Block Grant.
However, once engineering was completed for the work, it was determined that an additional $14,000 was required in order to accomplish necessary ADA improvement at the intersection with Maryland Avenue.
Council approved this additional funding Thursday night but the timeline for the completion of this project has yet to be determined.
