The city of Butler has settled a lawsuit filed by a former Butler City Police Deputy Chief over four years ago.
As part of Thursday’s meeting, council approved a motion to approve a General Release and Settlement Agreement with former Deputy Chief David Adam.
Details of the settlement were not revealed but a $12,500 deductible has been paid by the city with the remainder of the settlement amount paid by the City’s insurance carrier.
In April of 2019, Adam sued the city demanding payment for lost compensation time, pensions and personal days totaling nearly $30,000.
A separate settlement reached with former Chief Ron Brown concerning a similar complaint was reached in March of 2022.
