Butler City Council is once again preparing for fireworks as part of a summer celebration but the day will be different than in the past.
According to Butler City Mayor Bob Dandoy, the city’s annual Independence Day fireworks display will take place on Friday, July 5th this year instead of Thursday, July 4th.
After last year’s display, city officials believed they had an agreement in place with Zambelli Fireworks for this year but a misunderstanding resulted in that day already being booked this year. This year’s July 5th display from Historic Pullman Park at 9 p.m. will not exceed $15,000.
Residents, businesses, or organizations interested in sponsoring or donating to the city’s fireworks display are asked to contact the city for more information.
