Clay Township has made large requests to the state in hopes of replacing road equipment for paving projects.
The township applied for several Statewide Local Share Assessment grants that non-profit and local municipalities can apply for.
In total they requested four machines for $890,000 and the equipment will be used for Beaver Dam Road Paving.
Requests for these grants have to be under $1 million to qualify and do not require matching funding to receive.
