A Clinton Township man was allegedly swindled out of $15,000 earlier this week.
According to state police, the victim received a phone call saying that his grandson was in jail on felony charges after being involved in a crash. The caller allegedly claimed to be the grandson’s attorney, requesting $15,000 to pay his bond. The victim then paid a “courier” who was sent to pick up the cash.
This investigation is ongoing any anyone with information is asked to contact the Butler barracks of the state police.
