In the Division III playoffs:
–After falling behind 10-0 at halftime and 17-0 through three quarters, the Grove City College football team scored 15 points in the fourth quarter to just fall short in the First Round of the playoffs. They fell 23-15 to Hanover. The Wolverines end their season 8-3.
Division II playoffs:
–IUP fell 23-20 to Assumption Saturday. Assumption now goes to top-seeded and undefeated Kutztown this Saturday. Kutztown defeated Northeast-10 Conference champion Bentley 52-0 in the First Round game Saturday.
–California defeated Virginia Union 27-24. The Vulcans will host Frostburg State Saturday. Frostburg ousted #2 seed Johnson C. Smith 21-7.
WPIAL Championship games Saturday at Acrisure Stadium:
–Clairton defeated Laurel 8-6 to win the Class 1A championship.
–Seton LaSalle defeated Steel Valley 21-14 in the 2A title game.
–Avonworth defeated Imani Christian 30-6 to win the 3A championship.
–Peters Township edged Pine-Richland 20-19 to win the 5A title.
Friday night in the PIAA Quarterfinals – Aliquippa defeated Oil City 28-6 in a game played at Slippery Rock University.
