Penn State completed their season Saturday with a 39-24 victory over Michigan State. The Nittany Lions finished 3-5 overall.
The Pitt football team has decided to forgo any possible bowl bid and end their season. Seniors Rashad Weaver and Damar Hamlin did not make the trip for the Panthers final regular season win over Georgia Tech last Thursday. They along with Patrick Jones ll are preparing for the NFL Draft next spring. Weaver and Jones are projected as possible first round picks.
North Carolina running backs Javonte Williams and Michael Carter set an NCAA record Saturday in their 62-26 victory over #9-ranked Miami when they combined for 544 yards rushing. Carter ran for 308 yards and two scores, while Williams rushed for 236 yards and three touchdowns. Former Slippery Rock University coach Phil Longo is the offensive coordinator for the Tar Heels.
Alabama will remain the #1 college football team following their 52-3 win over Arkansas. The Crimson Tide went unbeaten in the SEC regular season for the third time in five years. Alabama is now 10-0.
