The national semifinals New Years Eve will feature the first non-Power Five conference team in Cincinnati. The Bearcats won the American Athletic Conference title and will meet Alabama in the Cotton Bowl. The Crimson Tide defeated previously undefeated Georgia in the SEC title game Saturday. Michigan will get Georgia in the Orange Bowl for the other semifinal matchup.
Penn State will meet Arkansas New Years Day in the Outback Bowl in Tampa, Florida.
West Virginia received a bid to meet Minnesota in the Guaranteed Rate bowl in Phoenix December 28th.
A Shepherd “Hail Mary” pass has moved them into the Division II final four. Harlon Hill candidate Tyler Bagent threw a 65-yard touchdown pass in the final seconds to defeat Kutztown 30-28 Saturday. With the win, the PSAC has sent a team to the Final Four the last two seasons. Slippery Rock reached the national semifinals in 2019. Shepherd will travel to Ferris State Saturday afternoon.
