–BC3 Women’s Basketball team defeated Penn Highlands 80-51 last night. Makenzie Craig had 34 points and 40 rebounds. The Lady Pioneers improved to 2-0 in conference play.
–The BC3 Men fell to Penn Highlands 84-79. Joel Stutz had 29 points. Brandon Record added 26.
The Pioneer teams will host Westmoreland County Community College today at the BC3 Field House at 5p and 7pm.
–The Slippery Rock University Men’s Basketball team defeated Gannon 72-61 last night at Morrow Field House. The Rock victory snapped Gannon’s nine-game winning streak, and puts The Rock into second place in the PSAC. Micah Till led Slippery Rock with 19 points and 11 rebounds, his 14th double-double of the year. The Rock is now 16-4 overall, 10-4 in the PSAC. Gannon dropped to 13-6 overall and 9-4 in the PSAC.
–The Rock women lost to Gannon 70-68. Karns City grad LeeAnn Gibson had a career-best 13 points for The Rock along with seven rebounds and a steal.
–The Rock baseball team has been ranked seventh in the first Atlantic Region pre-season poll. Senior catcher Tyler Walters and senior outfielder Luca Fuscardo have been named to the pre-season All-Atlantic Region team. The Rock went 27-20 last season, and just missed out on an NCAA tournament bid. They begin their season February 23rd in North Carolina.
